ACHIEVEMENTS

“I was reflecting on how grateful I am to have built a strong volunteer team at Remix over the last year. I realize that most of this is due to connections that I formed at the boardLink event last year. Through four strong volunteers I built new sponsors, cultivated new donor relationships, and built a new business program where we give out small grants to young entrepreneurs. The volunteers helped me build the curriculum, provided the training in-kind (or talked friends into helping!), and worked as business mentors. I’ve accomplished so much more than I could have on my own.”
— Anja Dobri, The Remix Project
I was very impressed by the energy that was generated at the board link event I attended in 2013, particularly by the number of enthusiastic and curious young professionals who were very interested in supporting the arts in their community.
I think boardLink provides an invaluable service in shining a light on the importance of volunteering in the community and specifically in the arts. boardLink allows interested and curious volunteers and community arts organizations/charities find one another.

“Through boardLink, I now serve on the Board of Directors for Artspace Inc. and am able to lend my business acumen and network to support their members and services. Attending my second boardLink as a representative of Artspace, also showed me how valuable this event is for arts organizations. It is often difficult to find the right people to match the gaps within your boards and committees. With close to 100 skilled and passionate people in attendance, we ended up with a great selection of candidates to consider for our upcoming nomination process.
