artsScene PEI hosted an evening of holiday food & drink, featuring a new collection of artwork by Norma Jean MacLean and a screening of seasonal short films from the National Film Board of Canada.
About the artist: Norma Jean MacLean
New work will feature a series of digital prints that visually process and organize past actions into new forms. The digital deconstruction of an oil painting made as an act of letting go is reconstructed into new defined forms in an attempt to keep it together.
About the films: National Film Board of Canada
From the NFB's database, an excellent online resource for Canadian content, we'll be screening some of our favourite wintery short films throughout the evening to make our spirits bright! Our picks include The Story of Christmas (Evelyn Lambart, 1973), It's Snow (Gayle Thomas, 1974), Christmas Cracker (Jeff Hale, Norman McLaren, Grant Munro & Gerald Potterton, 1963), and a few surprises :)
