What looked to be a washout with rain on Thursday July 26th, turned out to be a perfect summer evening for strolling the streets of Kensington Market.
ArtsScene Toronto members were lucky enough to have not just one, but two great tour guides from the Kensington Market Historical Society. Cyrel Troster and Bruce Beaton shared their knowledge with passion and heart. We were even surprised to partake in an interactive song about The King of Kensington: Al Waxman. "What a guy!" The highlights didn't stop there, as we were granted access to two buildings, which has never been done before on the Kensington Market tour. Among them was St. Stephen-In-The-Fields Church, which was listed as a Toronto's best-kept secret in the current issue of NOW Magazine!
Enjoying the sights, smells and stories, we will never look at the market quite the same again. Thanks to all who participated and a special thank-you to Heritage Toronto who made this walking tour possible.
